BEACHY HEAD, UNITED KINGDOM (1902)

A landmark for sailors in the English Channel, this historic lighthouse stands out. Immortalized in numerous films, songs and poems, it was also important during WWII. Located next to the highest chalk sea cliff in Britain, Beachy Head was placed in the sea as other area lighthouses were on cliffs and continually hidden by mist and low clouds.
